Pro-lifers should take note of what Obama said last night

As I pointed out in a blog a week ago, many strong pro-life people seem to be swaying towards Barack Obama. One of the main reasons I hear from friends who are pro-life is that the president doesn't seem to have done anything anyway, looking at Reagan and the two Bushes. But read for yourself what Senator Obama said last night:

And it is true that this is going to be, I think, one of the most consequential decisions of the next president. It is very likely that one of us will be making at least one and probably more than one appointments and Roe versus Wade probably hangs in the balance.

I copied that from the NY Times debate transcript at 1:07:11 into the transcript and video. If you scroll to that part, you can click on Barack Obama and here him say it himself.

All I have to say is that the argument that the president doesn't matter if he or she is pro-life, if you listen to Barack Obama, is not true.
